A Sad Week Indeed!

4-28-2022 Good Morning All, The past week has seen the loss of two Aunts.

First My Aunt Sandy by marriage whom was divorced from my Uncle Wayne.  She was the only Aunt I really felt a connection to that my Uncle has been married to. He has had so many wives since her.  She was the mother of all of his children.  We used to write letters to each other. I don't know why those trailed off.  I was told she had kidney failure. She was a severe diabetic. Diabetes is such an evil condition. I feel for her children and grandchildren. I will miss seeing her around on Face Book. Her funeral was last Tuesday in Illinois. I came down with a sinus infection and bronchitis so I was unable to go.

Next was the call that my Aunt Dorothy had passed away.  She was my Uncle Bob's 2nd wife.  Her and my Aunt Georgia were best of friends and both married a Bob. When Aunt Georgia passed and Dorothy's Bob passed they somehow just got together.  I was unable to attend my Aunt Georgia's funeral and be able to be there for the family. My boss would not let me go because she was not a direct relative.  I hated that boss and must learn to forgive her. As I am retired now I am able to say I'm going.  I am taking my daughter Billie Jo and my granddaughter with me. I might be taking a niece also. It is good being retired and able to come and go as I please.  I'm not fully over the bronchitis but my meds work great and I am breathing much better. I had no control over not being there for my Aunt Georgia. I miss her so. This time I will be there to hug my Uncle and be sure he knows he is loved.  He is such a good man and it is so sad knowing he is burying his 2nd wife. I love him so.

God gave me a gift yesterday. I was picking up trash in my back yard and I found a $100.00 bill.  This will be my 1st tank of gas for our trip to the far side of Missouri. Thank You Jesus for the message to go and the financial help needed. God truly is a good God, even in the sad times.

Be well all,

Teresa aka Tess

 Good morning,

Here it is April 1st already. Happy April Fool's Day. Now don't be pulling too many pranks today. 😁😁

It's hard to believe how fast March flew by. It sure has been a strange Spring this year.  We've had windstorms, snowstorms and thunderstorms all thru March here in the Land of Oz. I am ready for Spring to finally settle in. My mother's crocus plants have bloomed, they are so pretty. I have some tulips coming up. And the Iris leaves are presenting themselves. My yard is still a mess from all the construction that took place here. I am loving my new porch and am grateful for my new roof. I can't wait for better weather to get out in the yard and start planting and decorating.

I've been busy with my #etsy shop creating new mug designs. I'll leave links for you here to go view a few of the newest designs.

Just Another Manic Mom-Day I think this is my new favorite.

Mom Fuel If Found In Microwave Please Return to Mom

Dear Mom I Love You More. The End. I Win.

Silly Rabbit Easter is for JESUS

We Love Because He First Loved Us

As you can see I am gearing up for Easter and Mothers Day. If you wish to view all of my #etsy shop you can find me at mugsandmorebytess.com

I have been praying daily for the Ukrainian people. I hope I spelled that correctly. War is such an awful thing.  I have started Confirmation Classes at my church and with things opening up more here due to Covid-19 slowing down we now have a weekly Bible Study. We are studying Ecclesiastes at the moment. Would you care to share what your Bible Study group is studying?

I do hope you all have a great day and a great month of April. I love April because not only is it my birth month but many others in my family too. April also signals to me that Spring is here.

Be well and Be blessed,

Teresa aka Tess

 Greetings All,

Wow time sure does fly by these days. I can hardly believe it is already the middle of February.  The weather here in Central Kansas has been really strange. Warmer than it should be and not as much moisture as we need. We had a good snow a while back and I was smart and bought a window cover that closes inside each front door to cover the front window and wiper blades. Since I can't use my driveway, it sure made it easier the next day to clear the car. Wendy's is near my home, and they did a complete teardown and are in the middle of a rebuild. The building is up, and windows and doors are being installed. I have not had the use of my driveway or carport since they started. I will be glad when they get it finished that is for sure.

I've been volunteering at my church and really enjoying it. I am attending a Confirmation class to help me learn more about the Methodist faith. It's really for the teens but several of us adults decided to join in. I'm learning a lot and enjoying the classes. I also enjoy the Wednesday Meal Makers group. What a great bunch of people. I really look forward to spending time with them each week and creating a hearty and healthy meal for the those in need in our community. It feels good knowing I am in a sense paying it forward for all the many times during my younger years that I depended on Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens to get by.

I am also still creating designs for my mug business on etsy. It is a lot of fun and I enjoy the research aspect of it also. My shop is at www.mugsandmoreby tess.com My best-selling mug is also one of my favorites. My "God Bless Your Sassy Soul" design can be seen here in a sublimated (colorful handle/inside) 15 oz size or here in a white 11 oz. size.  The 11 oz. is below:

I hope you will take a look at all of my mug designs. I have 60 so far.

I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day. Without my dear husband to celebrate with I just thought of it as just another day. I was very surprised when my brother showed up at my door with a box of chocolates for me and one for my granddaughter too. All in all, it was an ok day with not many tears flowing.

Well, that's all for now. Be safe and Be Happy!

Till next time may God Bless You All,

Teresa aka Tess

Hello and Happy Day to you all,

It is a happy day indeed for me. After not logging into my email for a few days or my etsy shop (I've been busy wraping gifts and baking and feeling down in the dumps.) I found I had my first etsy shop sale. Woo Hoo! Happy dance!!! 😄 What a wonderful feeling to know that a design I created was loved enough by someone to purchase it. If you have the time please do take a look see at what I have to offer.

I have a confession I wish to make here publicly (to those that may be reading this anyway). I am a hoarder.  Well, this week I set myself a goal to totally clear off my dining room table. After all I will need it for Christmas Dinner, a wonderful incentive.  I am proud to announce the goal has been accomplished. Another Woo Hoo!!! Happy dance! 😄I even threw away many of my "Oh, I am sure I will read this someday junkmail magazines." WOW.)

My second goal will be set today and I will start working on it. I am to be at the church all day Wednesday to help prepare a free community meal so I may not get the 2nd goal finished until Thursday. A big thank you to my granddaughter for helping me with this.

I pray this finds you all happy and healthy,

Teresa aka Tess

Hello All and Hello to my hubby in heaven,

Today would have been our 32nd wedding anniversary. I wish you were here Chuck so we could celebrate together. I miss you so much. A lot has happened since you passed on.

Have you found Deanna yet or Bert or Henry or Sasha Cat? I am sure Sasha is getting lots of cuddles from her favorite human. 😊 I buried her in the yard with Circle so she is not alone. Sierra cries for her like Sasha did for Miracle. I took her to the vet and she has a few issues so is on antibiotics and special food. I give her cuddles as oftern as she will let me.

You would be proud of me Chuck. The house has a new porch and a new roof too. I so wish you were here to see it. But I know you are now pain free and in a better place. I love you Chuck, always have and always will. Give hugs all around up there from me.

You would be proud of Billie Jo too. She is buying her first home all her own. I've seen pictures and it is so lovely. She's going to take her time to move instead of rushing herself. Even though they are separated Derek is helping her out. It saddens me that they are not together but I understand and just want them both to be as happy as they can be.

To whoever is reaing this I pray you are healthy, wealthy and happy at all times.

Take care,

Teresa aka Tess

 Hello All,

Sorry I'm so far behind on posting. I've been doing great and very busy. Thanksgiving was at my mom's house this year. It's the first time in probably 25+ years that I have not hosted Thanksgiving at my house. I live near a Wendy's construction site and well there just wasn't going to be enough parking. I think all went well and everyone locally was there except for a an Aunt and Uncle, and I think mom really enjoyed it. Raven and I stayed over Wednesday night to help with preparations, turkey and ham for 15 people. Then we stayed over again Thursday night to make sure everything was cleaned up and mom was not alone. This was her first holdiay without Henry, my step-dad.

I've also been studying and embarking on a new adventure.  I now have an etsy shop and I design and sell coffee mugs. Here is a link to an example of one of my creations:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1132402191/the-struggle-is-real-but-so-is-my-god

The name of my shop is:  MugsAndMoreByTess . (Click on the name and the link will take you there.) It is still a work in progress. I do hope you will take a look and let me know what you think.

Nov. 22nd was my late daughters birthday, we lost her to cancer 4 years ago. My granddaughter and other daughter and I went to my late daughters favorite restaurant to spend some time together and remember her.  We always have fun when we do that.

Dec. 2nd was my late husbands birthday. I could not get ahold of my daughter so my granddaughter and I went to his favorite restauraunt to celebrate his day. I miss him so. It was a hard day and I did shed some tears but my granddaughter did her best to keep our spirits up.

Well untill next time I hope you all stay healthy and be happy,

Hugs,

Teresa aka Tess

For My Husband

 On Our 2015 Cruise
Jamaica, Montego Bay and Cozumel

I've been looking thru pictures of my late husband. Yellow tea roses were our thing since the day he took me to his Senior Prom oh so long ago. I had yellw rosebuds sewn on my wedding dress by a cousin and I carried yellow flowers in my wedding bouquet. I know the picture doesn't really go with the sentiment, I just like the picture.

For My Husband
Roses are yellow
 And violets are blue
I get all mellow
Whenever I think of You!

I miss you babe,

Until next time friends,

Save 50% on A Finger Pulse Oximeter

Greetings All,

I've been busy with my online classes this week in learning affiliate marketing and I've also been in a bit of a depression at the same time. This week one year ago I was speaking with the church ministers and family arranging for my husbands Celebration of Life. He's been gone 1 year, 1 month and 4 days now. I found his Oximeter today and sure enough they have a 2 pack on sale through Amazon.

For a Limited time (until Oct. 14, 2021 or when supplies run out) the Finger Pulse Oximeter, (SpO2) Blood Oxygen Monitor with Pulse Rate Measurement and Digital Reading LED is on sale for 50% off. These are great to have if you have COPD, Emphysema or are an asthma patient or a care giver of one of the mentioned.

And it's a 2 Pack! They are easy to use and read. We had one in the house for my husband to monitor his oxygen levels because he had COPD. Do yourself or a loved one a favor and go check it out HERE.

Be well my friends and until next time,

Be Happy, Be Healthy and Be Safe,

Teresa aka Tess

Quotes

 Hello All,

I've been attending a webinar thru Lurn, a 5 Day Digital Empire Challenge, and I'm learning a lot. One of todays guests had framed quotes on his wall behind him. Here are just a few I wrote down:

Don't Count the Days Make the Days Count.

The Power of Imagination Makes Us Infinite

If You Can Dream It You Can Do It

The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step

After todays webinar lesson I was reading my notes and realized just how much quotes impact my life. I have them written on snippets of paper, in journals, incorporated into artwork, on snippets taped to my desk, all over really.

I decided to go searching for a good book of Quotes and found this one on Amazon.

Ageless Wisdom : A Treasury of Quotes to Motivate and Inspire by J.S. Felts

I know nothing about the author but I truly believe this would be a great book to own. I know I'll be buying it. I hope you'll go take a look, just click on the words Ageless Wisdom above.

Speaking of quotes please share with me some of your favorite quotes and why they motivate or inspire you.

Heres's one of mine: Be gentle with yourself, you're doing the best you can. ~Tamara Laport of willowing.org

I am sometimes way too hard on myself, we can often be our own worst enemies. Tamara reminds me to take it easy on me and just do the best I can at any given time or task.

Be well my friends and untill next time,

Sanitizing The After COVID Way

 Good Sunday All,

Today was my first Sunday physically in church since 3 weeks past. I wore my mask the whole service and no hugs but a few fist bumps. It was so good to be in the pew and not just watching from home. I love the sound of the big organ pipes.

My granddaughter and I have been cleaning and disinfecting off and on for 3 days now as we both got the NEGATIVE test result Friday. We've noticed we still tire easily so decided to keep track of what we've cleaned and give ourselves time to get it done. We've cleaned all of the usual things such as sweeping, mopping and vaccuming the floors (even though they were just done recently), microwave inside and out, cleaning toilet and sinks in bathroom and kitchen, cleaning stove and counter tops, thorougly cleaning cat food dishes and kitty litter area, wiping down the refrigerator and freezer doors inside and out, etc. Then we sat and thought about the everyday things we touch automatically and don't really think about. The disinfecting cleaning wipes came out and we cleaned:

light switches, door nobs (inside and out) including cabinets in kitchen and bathroom,  dresser drawer pulls, cell phones and chargers, all tv and Roku remotes, portable speaker and charger cord, wiped down all of the shampoo, conditioner, bath wash and perfume bottles, double wiped down the sink faucets, kitchen table was decluttered and completely wiped down, blankets and pillows washed, sheets changed, lamp switches wiped down, tooth brushes in the trash and new ones out, vaccum cleaner handle and broom and mop handles. I still wonder did we forget anything?

Oh the car, I have a steering wheel cover, it was removed and the steering wheel and column completely wiped down and a new cover purchased and placed on. Let me tell you those things are hard to put on, it took both of us and about 10 minutes sitting in Walmart parking lot pushing and pulling but we got it on. I've sprayed disinfectant in there. We plan to thoroughly vaccum the inside of the van and clean all door handles, windows, radio buttons, etc. It'll get done tomorrow for sure. We tuckered out today.

So there you have it, sanitizing after COVID. Please be careful when wiping down anything electrical.  And if you think of something I may have missed please let me know.

Untill next post,

Be Happy, Be Healthy and Be Safe,

Teresa aka Tess

COVID Free

 Hi, Hi, Hello there,

I am so happy at the moment (hopefully I'll stay this way). So my granddaughter and I have been under house quarantine because we have COVID-19 or I should say Had COVID. We went for a free test today and !Woo Hoo! 😄 we are both now NEGATIVE for COVID antigens. Yeah! We were super excited, stoked and oh so happy to get that text. We still tire easily and must take our immune boosting vitamins and wear maskes but it was oh so good to safely leave the house today. Now we just have to get my mom thru this. Her last quarantine day is Sept. 6th. She wants to go for the free test too as she is so afraid of infecting another. I pray for her everyday. You may pray for her too, her name is Joan! She takes a walk outside around her yard with her mask on daily. I can't imagine how lonely she must be at this time having just buried her husband. Many family and friends call her daily to check in or leave little gifts at her door. Just pray my mom beats this ok, please.

I was browsing around and found a great 60% off coupon at Amazon for Halloween Window Decor. Go check it out HERE . No it's not too early to start Halloween shopping. Halloween was my oldest daughters favorite time of the year. I hope you'll use the discount.

Until next time...

Happy September

                             My version of a Picasso

Happy September Everyone,

It's so good to be out of August and headed for cooler days. August was a hard month for me and many in my family. I lost my husband 1 year ago in August. My stepdad, who seldom left the house, somehow contracted COVID and subsequently passed away under hospic care. He had several other underlying illnesses including diabetes and cancer. Then I was tested positive and my mom and then my granddaughter. We buried my stepdad in August. My Uncle lost a niece this year in August and he was afraid to go see his brother. My cousins lost an Aunt this past month too. I used to love the month of August because it was the year I became a grandmother 22 years ago. I will still always celebrate her day, August 4th; but after that I just don't know! My mom challenged me to read Psalms91 in the bible every day this week...such comforting words.

I look forward to getting better and mom and Raven too so we can get out of quarantine. I want to do more yardwork and have the energy to clean more around the house, sanitize and all. I want to go fishing in my husbands favorite spot. It's been over a year since his passing and I have yet to be able to go there. I want to go there and spread some of his ashes into the lake. Then I'll know he's fishing with me. He loved going fishing but had no energy to do so the last year of his life.

I didn't want this to be a sad post but a happy one. We got through August and September with cooler days ahead of us. Yeah! My daughter, Billie Jo, loves the fall and winter months. I know she's happy to be out of the August heat. I hope September is cooler anyway.

I pray you all stay healthy and happy. Wear your masks in public as this COVID isnt over yet. Hug your loved ones and tell them you love them daily. Enjoy a sunrise or a sunset. Roast some marshmallows and hotdogs on a cool evening over a campfire. Be kind to ane another and our earth. Pray for those who lost there lives in Afghanistan and those affected by Hurricane Ida.

Untill next time...

Greetings all,

COVID-19 has struck my family and I find myself with some extra downtime on my hands.  Today was a very sad day 😢 as we laid to rest my beloved stepdad.  He was a good man to my mother and our family. He was battling cancer and contracted COVID. He was diagnosed with pnuemonia a week before they tested him for COVID. I am grateful God did not let him linger under hospice care too long. When we thought he only had pneumonia I would go and spend time with him while mom went to work as he did not want to be left alone. We still do not know where he got the COVID from as he seldom left the house. My mom is handling this well and stayed by his side to the end. Next I tested positive, then my mother and now my granddaughter.  My granddaughter lives with me now. We are all doing well thankfully,  quarntined at home . However, we did mask up and slather down with sanitizer to go to the burial site. Yes, we all kept our distances. Even so it was a beautiful day and a beautiful service. 😊

I lost my dear husband and best friend on August 13th, 2020 three years after loosing my oldest daughter.  He had been ill and was waiting for an appt. with a cardiologist. He also had COPD and refused to quit smoking. I guess his body could not wait. I found him when I came home from work, he had died in his sleep during his afternoon nap. I miss him so! 😢 The last year had taken it's tole on me emotionally. I was forced to retire early so I am retired now and attempting to work from home.  I  hope to share that journey here. I am so glad I remembered this blog and went looking for it. I see there have been many changes here at blogspot and I hope to catch up on them all.  Thank you all for reading my post.

Thanking God This Blog Is Still Here

It's been a long, long while since checking in with this blog.  I so prayed as I searched for it that it was still here.  So many memories and photos here that I fear could not be replaced. Especially the journey taken with my now departed oldest daughter when she had her brain tumor.  Oh how I wish I had filled this blog with her and her sisters reactions and reconnecting during her Breast Cancer and her thyroid cancer/lymphocytic leukemia. We lost Bobbie Jo on 6-9-17.  God, the universe, whoever was trying to scare the hell out of me because my youngest daughter had her own scare with thyroid cancer in October of 2017.  Too soon after Bobbie, too soon ever.  She is fine, my Billie Jo. She survived and is doing well.  Depending on how her labs come out she may not have to see her special doctor again for 2 years.  I fear I have not been there for her as much as I should.  I cannot get out of this funk of just wanting to disappear, to fade away. I hope if Billie Jo reads this she know and understands that I love her dearly and hated having to leave the hospital that day without seeing her.  They would not let us go in.  My dear son-in-law, Derek,  stayed the entire night in the waiting room. He wasn't about to leave his love. I'm so proud of him, of both of them.  I'm rambling....so sorry.  Hope any that reads this knows you are loved, cared for and worthy. Go hug your babies, no matter what age they be. I lost one of mine at age 41.  What I wouldn't give for just one more hug.
Be well,
Teresa aka Tess

Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present and future.
I found this under drafts, such a true statement. I wonder what I was thinking or feeling when I first wrote it.
